Egg & Bread for Breakfast

My son enjoys cooking and concocting his own creation.  He saw a recipe that caught his interest in a cookbook, "MaterChef Cookbook" and came up with his own version of the "egg in purgatory".  His variation is very simple and easy to make, it's yummy and nutritious for a quick breakfast, it's almost like eating a toast except there's an egg in the middle. Here's the recipe in his own words and picture.

Egg & Bread for Breakfast

Ingredients:
  • 1 slice of bread(any kind, not toasted but not frozen)
  • 1 egg
  • 1 tablespoon butter
  • Parmesan cheese
Utensils:
  • 1 small skillet
  • 1 small cup
Directions:
  1. Heat the skillet over medium heat and melt the butter evenly around the skillet.
  2. Meanwhile, take the bread and using the mouth of the cup, make a hole in the center of the bread.
  3. Take the center piece of the bread and toast it on the skillet for 1 to 2 minutes, set aside.
  4. Take the rest of the bread and toast one side of it for 2 minutes.
  5. Flip it over and crack the egg into the center hole in the bread.
  6. Cook for 4 minutes and then flip over and cook another 3 minutes.
  7. Set on a plate with other piece of bread and garnish with a pinch of Parmesan cheese.
